Yesterday we looked at a site that provided users a chance to enhance the use of their PDA. That site was for PDAs based on the Pocket PC/Windows Mobile operating system. Today I thought we could look at a site that helps users enhance their use of Palm OS-based devices.
The site is called 1 Source, or One Source. It is a recent merger of two sites, ClieSource and PalmOne Source. Here, as in yesterdays site, visitors get the latest news about program releases, bug fixes, new models (or lack of new models), and the latest industry news. The forum section is one of the best I have seen, both in the quality, and the quanity. Both palmOne and Sony Clie devices are featured, as are the Tapwave Zodiac, the Gramin iQue, and other liscensees, such as Kyocera and Samsung. What I enjoyed about this site, when I used a Palm PDA, was being able to communicate directly with the vendors. Many of them were users as well, and other members had contacts within companies that if there was a problem in an area, they could get answers. It is user created and user maintained sites such as this make it easier to use these somewhat complex devices, and often complement the actual vendor sites.
So if you have a Palm bassed PDA, or know someone who does, this is the site for them. Share it around, and keep it in mind if you are ever in the market for one.
